Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
CrayonSnap.com ("we," "us," or "our") is a service that turns your photos into printable coloring pages. We take your privacy — and your kids' privacy — seriously. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we do with it, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it. See also our Terms of Service, Child Privacy Notice, and Daycare / School Addendum.
1. Who CrayonSnap Is For
CrayonSnap is intended for adults — parents, guardians, teachers, daycare providers, and other authorized caregivers. Children may not create accounts or upload photos directly. By uploading any photo, you confirm that you have the legal right and any necessary permission to use it, including permission from the parent or legal guardian of any child shown in the photo. For group photos, you must have permission for every visible child.
2. Information We Collect
- Photos you upload so we can convert them into coloring pages.
- Account info you give us — name, email, optional phone number.
- Payment info handled directly by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
- Basic technical data such as browser type, device, and IP address to keep the site secure and working.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to: generate your coloring pages, operate and improve the site, deliver the service you paid for, respond to your questions, prevent abuse, and keep the platform safe. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use your photos for advertising.
4. No AI Model Training
We do not use uploaded photos or generated coloring pages to train, fine-tune, or evaluate AI models — ours or anyone else's. Photos are sent to Google's Gemini image API solely for the single image-to-coloring conversion you requested. We access that model through a paid, enterprise API tier whose terms contractually prohibit the provider from using submitted content to train or improve its models. We do not use the free consumer/AI Studio tier for customer photos.
4a. No Biometric Data
CrayonSnap does not collect, generate, derive, or store biometric identifiers or biometric information — no faceprints, face templates, facial-geometry scans, or face-recognition data. Our conversion is a stylization step that produces line art from an image; no identity matching, face detection database, or biometric template is created or retained. We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric data because we do not have any.
5. No Marketing Use Without Permission
We do not use customer photos or generated coloring pages in marketing materials, social posts, paid ads, website examples, or testimonials without your separate written permission. If we ever want to feature your work, we'll ask first via an opt-in release — and the default is always "no".
6. Your Photos: Storage, Retention & Deletion
- You own your photos. We get a limited license only to process them into coloring pages and deliver the service to you.
- Originals stored privately. Original photos live in a private storage bucket where only your account can access them.
- Original photos auto-delete within 7 days. A nightly scheduled job permanently removes the original image from our active systems, and the job is logged and monitored. Residual encrypted backup copies are purged within approximately 30 days (see below). We minimize retention of any photo that may contain a child.
- Generated coloring pages stay in your gallery so you can re-download them. They are kept for up to 1 year, or until you delete them or close your account.
- Backups. Encrypted backups may retain deleted files for a short rolling window (typically up to 30 days) before being overwritten.
- Delete anytime. Sign in, open "My Coloring Pages", select items, and click Delete. This removes both the original and the coloring page immediately. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email hello@crayonsnap.com.
7. How We Keep Your Data Safe
- All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Files are encrypted at rest in our cloud storage provider.
- Photos sit in a private bucket with per-user access rules — other users cannot list or read your files.
- When we send your photo to the AI for conversion, we use a short-lived signed URL (valid for 5 minutes) rather than a public link.
- Uploads are restricted to image files (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC) with a 15 MB size limit to prevent abuse.
- Authentication is handled by an industry-standard provider with hashed passwords, multi-factor authentication for administrators, and optional Google sign-in.
- Administrative access to uploads is restricted to a small number of authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis and is logged.
- We maintain a Written Information Security Program (WISP), vendor security review, and an incident-response plan, consistent with Massachusetts data-security regulations (201 CMR 17.00) for the personal information of Massachusetts residents.
No system is 100% secure, but we follow current best practices and continuously review our setup. If we ever have a security incident affecting your data, we will notify affected users promptly and as required by applicable breach-notification law.
8. Service Providers We Share Data With
We share uploaded photos and generated outputs only with the service providers necessary to operate CrayonSnap. Each provider receives only the minimum data needed to do its job and is contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
- Google AI (Gemini) — image-to-coloring conversion only; no model training.
- Stripe — subscription billing and tax.
- Resend — transactional email (receipts, password resets).
We do not sell uploaded photos or generated coloring pages, and we do not share them with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.
9. Data Location
Data is stored and processed on cloud infrastructure located in the United States. By using CrayonSnap you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the U.S.
10. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
CrayonSnap is a general-audience service intended for adults. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 or knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Children may benefit from CrayonSnap only through a parent, guardian, or authorized caregiver who creates and controls the account and is responsible for any photos uploaded. For more detail, see our Child Privacy Notice. If you believe a child's photo or information has been uploaded without proper parental consent, email hello@crayonsnap.com and we will delete it promptly.
11. Daycare, Preschool & School Use
Daycare centers, preschools, schools, and similar organizations that use CrayonSnap are responsible for obtaining parent or guardian consent before uploading photos of children. Please review the Daycare / School Addendum for the additional terms that apply to organizational use.
12. Subscriptions, Cancellation & Refunds
Paid plans renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime from your account billing page; cancellation stops future renewals and you keep access through the end of the current billing period. Pricing, renewal cadence, and refund policy are described in our Terms of Service.
13. Your Rights
You can:
- View and download your coloring pages anytime in your gallery.
- Delete individual coloring pages and their originals from the gallery.
- Request a full export or full deletion of your account by emailing us.
- Unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in any email.
US-only service. CrayonSnap is offered to customers in the United States, and our infrastructure and subprocessors are US-based. We do not target, market to, or knowingly provide the service to residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and we do not offer GDPR/UK-GDPR data-subject procedures. If you are located outside the United States, please do not use the service.
Depending on your state (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, portability, deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Email us to exercise any of these rights; we verify requests against the email on your account and respond within 45 days.
14. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for things like keeping you signed in and understanding how the site is used. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
