Vehicles are the easiest win for a car-obsessed kid

There's a stage — usually somewhere between two and seven — where a child wants nothing on paper except vehicles. Generic car coloring books get used once. A coloring page of your car, with the dent in the bumper and the roof box still on, gets colored, argued over, and stuck on the fridge. How to photograph a vehicle for the best page

Shoot from a three-quarter front angle, get the whole vehicle in frame with a little space around it, and avoid harsh midday reflections off the paint and windshield — an overcast day or open shade is ideal. A plain driveway or empty lot beats a crowded street, because every parked car behind yours becomes extra clutter in the outline.
